Jet Propulsion Laboratory Administration Building and Education Center*

Pasadena, California

Gruen Associates was the Architect of Record for the 92,000-GSF replacement of the main administration building on the JPL/NASA campus. The project, which was designed to serve as a new gateway and icon for the campus, carefully balances the need for a secure work environment for an iconic public agency (NASA) while creating a collaborative and creative work environment for the administrators of the US space programs. A second phase would have included a 35,000-GSF education center/museum space. Michael Maltzan Architecture was the Design Architect.

* Gruen Associates is the Executive Architect.
