Gruen Associates is the Design Architect for the $21 million renovation of this 200,000-SF building. Originally intended to solve specific technical deficiencies, the project was transformed into a comprehensive renovation, which resolved functional and image-related issues concurrently with security, energy and technology upgrades and without an increase to the original budget; delivered on-schedule and under-budget. The modernization included site and building security, reinforcement against progressive collapse, blast protection, upgrades to all building systems, a First Impressions lobby upgrade, building enlargement at the lobby level, energy efficient lighting retrofit, The scope included the complete redesign of all the projects interiors including lobbies, circulation, elevators, all offices and courtrooms and targeted exterior enhancements. The project included structural upgrades to the building including blast protection.
